Tasting Notes
Mid to deep red in colour and of brilliant clarity. The nose shows cassis berry fruit combined with spicy oak and earthy characters. The medium bodied palate has a good depth of fruit and is supported with fine grape tannins. The finish is clean and fresh with just the right amount of persistence.

Cellaring
2 to 3 years.

Winemaking Notes
The Cabernet component comes from the Yarra Valley and was fermented in open and closed top fermentors. The wine received 18 months maturation in seasoned French and American oak. Ê Prior to bottling the wine was egg white fined and filtered. The Merlot component is from Victoria's Alpine Valley region and underwent similar winemaking techniques.

2001 was a warm season with good flavour and sugar development.
