Tasting Notes
Mid plum red in colour and of brilliant clarity. The nose shows cassis berry fruit combined with toasty oak and earthy characters. The medium bodied palate has a good depth of fruit and is supported with fine grape tannins. The finish is long and smooth with well balance acid and tannin.

Cellaring
3 to 5 years.

Winemaking Notes
Both the Cabernet and Merlot components of this wine come from the Yarra Valley and were fermented in open and closed top fermenters. The wine received 24 months maturation in seasoned French and American oak. Prior to bottling the wine was skim milk fined and lightly filtered.

Viticultural Notes
The 2001/2002 growing season was one of the coolest on record. A warm and sunny late autumn ensured fully ripened fruit with a great depth of flavour and structure.
