Both The B-52s and The Proclaimers are renowned for their charismatic live stage shows and raucous, uplifting music, so how much fun will this be! Mental As Anything, who is celebrating their 30th anniversary, will kick start the concert.
The B-52s – Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, Keith Strickland and Cindy Wilson - put Athens, Georgia on the musical map in the late '70s, with their quirky and unconventional take on the new wave sound of the era. The band’s pioneering fusions of punk, new wave, vintage rock and electronic music all wrapped up in savvy hooks was an instant success. With three unique vocalists, they were an upbeat irresistible party band – and the world loved them!
Very special guests on the tour are Scotland’s finest Celtic soul brothers The Proclaimers. Twins Craig and Charlie Reid charmed the world with their consummate pop songs, charged with emotional honesty, political fire and wit like the euphoric ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ and ‘I’m On My Way’, both massive hits in Australia.
And to get the party started will be everyone’s favourite party band Mental As Anything, celebrating 30 years since the release of their very first EP.
So there you have it...... The B-52s, The Proclaimers and Mental As Anything – three of the world’s best party bands all in one night! Don’t miss it.

Travel less than an hour from Melbourne’s CBD and find yourself transported into the glory of Victoria’s Yarra Valley. Nestled at the foot of the Great Dividing Ranges, Rochford Wines is proud to offer its guests a unique and exciting Yarra Valley winery experience.
At Rochford Wines we pride ourselves on the production of premium quality wines that express the true character of our vineyard sites. Winemaker David Creed produces high quality wines with fruit sourced from our vineyards, located in two of Victoria’s premium cool climate wine regions. Together, with the viticulturalist, David works to ensure that the vineyards in the Macedon Ranges and the Yarra Valley produce only the finest of grapes to be used in the making of our wines.
The story of Rochford Wines has its beginnings in the hamlet of Rochford, on the northern slopes of Victoria’s Macedon Ranges. The 270-acre property with functional winery was purchased by the Konecsny family in 1998. Less than five years later, the Konecsny’s purchased a second winery, Eyton on Yarra, located in the Yarra Valley.
Shortly thereafter, this property was renamed Rochford Wines, in keeping with the brand already established with the original winery in Macedon. At the same time, the property was significantly redeveloped to improve the layout and design of the Cellar Door, Barrel Room, Observation Tower and Art Gallery. The existing amphitheatre was also extended to accommodate larger concerts and outdoor events.
This dynamic winery destination is certainly a highlight of the Yarra Valley. At Rochford Wines we offer our guests an opportunity to sample award-winning wines at our cellar door, enjoy a meal in our restaurant or café, appreciate the landscape by looking out over the estate from the observation tower and take in a bit of culture with a stroll through the art gallery.
Our beautifully designed, contemporary facility also functions as a special events venue for birthday and anniversary celebrations, weddings, corporate functions, car club displays, drive days, coach tours and more.
This summer sees the commencement of the Rochford Twilight Experience. Enjoy pizza, Rochford wines and movie blockbusters amongst the vines and under the stars.
Rochford’s 4WD Track (Coming Soon) allows you to test your nerves and skills in The Swamp. Clamber your vehicle out of The Channel. Stay afloat over The Rails. The track is ideal for vehicle launches, training days and corporate events.

Bushfire Victims Fundraising
Rochford Wines, the Yarra Valley’s largest concert and entertainment venue, has today announced all events currently booked at our venue in the coming weeks and months will be actively raising funds for the victims of Victoria’s horrific bushfires.
The tragic circumstances of the past few days has affected us all, some of our own staff have suffered terrible property losses, and our heartfelt sympathy goes out to our friends and families in surrounding regional Victoria.
Scheduled events at our venue, daily tourist coaches and companies who have booked private corporate functions, are generously donating funds to our collection bins to be passed directly to The Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund.
NAB is co-ordinating the distribution of funds to the Red Cross, and is also collecting donations in branches around the country and online. Account details are provided below.
Tourism destinations like ourselves in the Yarra Valley, who are fortunate enough to still have our properties, are open for business and we are actively supporting local relief efforts to do whatever we can to lend assistance.
Rochford would like to take this opportunity to encourage the hundreds of thousands of Victorians and interstate visitors who have attended major concert events at our venue in the past, and taken in the beauty of the Yarra Valley and surrounding townships at the same time, to give generously to The Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund.
Rochford, and our major business partners and suppliers, urge all Victorians, and indeed all Australians, to dig deep for our friends and their families.

Our winemaker, David Creed produces wines of distinction from fruit grown in our Macedon Ranges and Yarra Valley vineyards, both located in two of Victoria’s premium cool climate wine regions.
We like to say we make our wines in the vineyard, in other words we strive to produce the highest quality fruit possible. To achieve this we pay attention to every detail such as yield regulation through pruning and crop removal. In these cool climate areas sunlight intercept is vital so all our vineyards are trained using vertical shoot positioning. Combined with shoot removal and regular trimming we achieve a very open canopy. This combination of low crops and maximum sunlight exposure results in consistently high quality fruit no matter what the seasonal conditions are.
Nestled on the northern slopes of Victoria’s Macedon Ranges at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level is the site of our first vineyard. In fact, our name comes from the hamlet of Rochford, located nearby. Here the combination of cool climate and red volcanic soil results in wines with a great depth of flavour and structure.
The 108 hectare property has 35 hectares of producing vineyard with the main varieties being Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The clones of Pinot Noir include the highly acclaimed Burgundian 777 as well as 114 and 115. Already the 777 is showing great promise and is now a vital component of our Pinot Noir blend.
Our Chardonnay includes the Mendoza and Burgundian 76 clones which are vital components of our blend adding great complexity to our cool climate Chardonnay.
Pinot Gris is proving to be well suited to the site producing wines of great balance with minimal winemaking intervention. This wine is truly made in the vineyard. Riesling is again well suited to this area and produces wines of finesse with great aging ability.
In summary we grow the following grapes in our Macedon Ranges vineyard:
Our 32 hectare Maroondah Highway property in the Yarra Valley has 14 hectares of producing vineyard.
We grow the following varieties in our Yarra Valley vineyard:
The Yarra Valley climate is unique in that it is possible to produce a range of premium quality wines from a range of varieties. This is a result of the mild to warm growing conditions combined with a long growing season. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have long been standouts as has Cabernet Sauvignon. The new kid on the block is Shiraz and this may prove to be the Valleys biggest asset. The style is definitely cool climate with fine pepper and spice characters to make the perfect food wine. Sauvignon Blanc produces a style which is a little more Bordeaux like rather than Loire. It is ripe with moderate acidity but is definitely Sauvignon Blanc. The Riesling and Gewürztraminer add variety to our list and are definitely worth at trip to the cellar door to try.
Our Cellar Door is open 7 days a week, 9 AM – 5 PM. Here our knowledgeable staff will lead you through an enjoyable and engaging wine tasting experience.
Tutored wine tasting sessions for groups are also available.
While at the Cellar Door be sure to visit our Shop. It has a carefully selected range of products represents Australia and the Yarra Valley. Rochford branded items are also available.

Tasting Notes
This wine is light straw in colour with brilliant clarity. The nose is fine and elegant showing melon and citrus fruit combined nutty yeast and oak characters. The palate is rich and creamy with a fine acid backbone leading to a long finish.
Winemaking Notes
This wine is produced from a single Yarra Valley vineyard. After crushing and pressing the juice was cold settled to a bright level. This juice was racked into small French oak barrels and cultured yeast was added. Following fermentation the early addition of sulphur dioxide has prevented malo lactic fermentation. The wine was aged on yeast lees without stirring for 8 months. The wine was bottled in February 2007.
Viticultural Notes
The fruit for this wine comes from our Yarra Valley vineyard. The 2006 growing season started with an early bud burst and this was followed by a long period of warm to hot weather with plenty of sunshine. This resulted in very early picking with the Yarra Valley experiencing one of its earliest vintages on record. The fruit was picked on the 7th March at 12.7 Be.
Tasting Notes
This wine is light to mid straw in colour with brilliant clarity. The nose is rich and complex displaying citrus fruit combined with nutty oak and hints of fig, apricot and coconut. The palate is rich, creamy and almost seamless with a fine acid backbone leading to a long, tight finish.
Winemaking Notes
This wine is a blend of 4 chardonnay clones from two premium Yarra Valley vineyards. After crushing and pressing the juice was cold settled to a bright level. This juice was racked into new French oak barrels and cultured yeast was added. Following fermentation the early addition of sulphur dioxide has prevented malo lactic fermentation. The wine was aged on yeast lees without stirring for 18 months. The wine was bottled in early December 2005.
Viticultural Notes
A warm summer followed by a mild and sunny autumn produced finely structured grapes with excellent flavour definition.
Tasting Notes
Light straw with a green edge. The nose shows classic cool climate chardonnay perfume of citrus and melon overlayed with nutty oak. The palate is tightly structured leading to a long creamy finish. Barrel fermentation and maturation complements the fruit structure and adds depth and complexity to this wine. As there is no malo lactic fermentation there is plenty of acidity to give length and freshness to the finish.
Winemaking
The great thing about making wine from fruit grown in a cool region is that the fruit arrives at the winery at a nice low temperature. This naturally low fruit temperature allows us to whole bunch press our chardonnay. This results in very high quality juice with well-defined fruit flavours, low phenolic extraction and very low solids levels. After overnight settling the juice was racked into French oak barriques and a yeast culture was added. Following primary fermentation sulphur dioxide was added to the wine to prevent malo lactic fermentation. We feel that the lack of malo lactic allows the wine to truly express its fruit characters and also gives a wine with better aging potential. This was followed by 8 months maturation on yeast lees.
The wine was racked from barrel in December and bottled in early February 2007.
Viticultural Notes
The early part of the 2005/2006 growing season was warm to hot but this changed quickly in mid March to being very cool and showery. This weather persisted for the balance of the ripening period. The resulted was extended ripening with good flavour development but slightly lower acidy than normal. The fruit was hand picked between the 24th and 26th April at 12.0 to 13.2 Be.
Tasting Notes
Light to mid straw in colour will a green edge. The nose is complex showing stone fruit and fig characters combined with toasty oak. The palate is rich and creamy with a good depth of flavour. The acid adds length to the long clean finish.
Winemaking Notes
After crushing and pressing the juice was cold settled to a bright condition. The racked juice was divided with 27% being tank fermented and 73% barrel fermented in conditioned French oak barrels. The tank ferment portion received a short period of yeast lees contact while the barrel component remained on yeast lees of 9 months. The wine was bottled in February 2007.
Viticultural Notes
The 2006 Rochford Latitude Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown in the Yarra Valley (76%) and Macedon Ranges (24%).
The early part of the 2005/2006 growing season was warm to hot but this changed quickly in mid March to being very cool and showery. This weather persisted for the balance of the ripening period. The result was extended ripening for the Macedon Ranges component with good flavour development but slightly lower acidy than normal.
Tasting Notes
Light to mid straw in colour with a touch of green. The delicate nose shows tropical fruit combined with gooseberry and passionfruit. The palate is richly structured and shows good regional character of fine fruit flavours combined with fine acidity.
Winemaking Notes
After crushing and pressing, the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15 degrees celcius, allowing the wine to retain its fresh, vibrant fruit characters. The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc was fermented to dryness, giving an alcohol 13.5% vol. Bottled May 2008.
Viticultural Notes
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the cool Seville/Woori Yallock area as well as our Maroondah Highway vineyards. An early bud burst followed by warm and dry conditions resulted in a very early harvest.
Tasting Notes
This wine is mid straw in colour. The nose shows a fine perfume of fresh pear combined with stone fruit and spicy characters. The palate is tightly structured with subtle flavours and fine acidity. The finish is long with just a touch of classic Pinot Gris firmness.
Winemaking
Ripe Pinot Gris fruit has a considerable amount of pink colour as well as developed phenolics. In order to keep juice colour and phenolic levels as low as possible the fruit was whole bunch pressed. After cold settling the juice was fermented in stainless steel at 17 degrees C. This was followed by a short period of yeast lees contact for additional complexity. After stabilization and clarification the wine was bottled on 2 June 2008.
Viticultural Notes
The 2007-2008 growing season was warm and dry. Even so cropping levels were good with a nice balance of flavour and acidity.
Tasting Notes
Light to mid straw in colour with a touch of green. The nose shows lime and citrus characters with a slight smoky edge. The palate is tightly structured with a good depth of flavour that leads to a fresh and clean finish.
Winemaking Notes
This is a blend of 60% Yarra Valley and 40% Macedon Ranges fruit. After crushing and pressing the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15°C, allowing the wine to retain its fresh, vibrant fruit characters. The wines were fermented to dryness before blending the two batches.
Viticultural Notes
The fruit for this wine is from our Maroondah Highway and Macedon ranges vineyards. The vintage in the Yarra Valley was warm to hot while the Macedon Ranges was warm early with a very cool period towards the end.
Tasting Notes
Light to mid straw in colour. The nose show lifted floral notes of honeysuckle and violets. The palate is rich and full flavoured. The sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity and the refreshing spritz results in a long clean finish. Enjoy well chilled.
Tasting Notes
Deep plum red in colour with a purple edge. The nose shows classic cool climate Shiraz spice combined with dark berry fruits with hints of mocha and toasty oak. The palate is rich with dark berry fruits and lifted spice. There is a nice balance of acid and tannin. The finish is long and soft.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit for this wine was sourced from two premium Yarra Valley vineyards. The crushed and de-stemmed fruit was fermented in open top tanks with hand plunging. After pressing and malo lactic fermentation the wines were aged for 24 months in new and seasoned French barriques. To add further complexity 30% of the wine was barrel fermented. The wine was lightly filtrated prior to bottling in November 2006.
Viticultural Notes
A warm summer followed by a mild and sunny autumn produced finely structured grapes with excellent flavour definition.
Tasting Notes
Deep plum red in colour with a purple edge. The nose shows lifted cool climate Shiraz spice, dark berry fruits toasty oak. The palate is rich and concentrated with layers of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and mocha oak. There is a surprising amount of fine-grained tannin, which rounds out the finish and adds length.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit for this wine was sourced from our Yarra Valley vineyard. The crushed and de-stemmed fruit was co-fermented with Viognier (about 4% as whole berries) in open top tanks with hand plunging. After pressing and malo lactic fermentation the wines were aged for 14 months in new and seasoned French oak barrels. To add further complexity 30% of the wine was barrel fermented. The wine was lightly filtrated prior to bottling in September 2006.
Viticultural Notes
A warm summer followed by a mild and sunny autumn produced finely structured grapes with excellent flavour definition.
Tasting Notes
Rich plum red with a touch of purple. The nose shows lifted berry fruits combined with spice and savoury characters. Careful oak maturation has added softness and complexity to the palate while preserving the berry fruit characters. There is a nice balance of acid and tannin that adds length and sweetness to the finish.
Winemaking Notes
The winemaking was aimed at capturing as much fruit flavour as possible while also building in softness and richness through a short period of oak maturation. Early bottling has preserved the primary fruit flavours.
Viticultural Notes
The fruit for this wine comes from Victoria’s Goulburn Valley. The 2006 vintage was warm to hot and resulted in full flavoured fruit with good structure.
Tasting Notes
Deep plum in colour and brilliant in clarity. The nose shows lifted dark berry pinot fruit overlayed with high note oak, mocha and savoury characters. The palate is rich and full flavoured. The finish is long and soft with well integrated acid and tannin. This is a powerful wine while still showing the true elegance of Pinot Noir.
Winemaking Notes
When making Pinot Noir we try to keep things as simple as possible and let the vineyard characters do all of the talking. After de-stemming and chilling the fruit was cold soaked for 7 days before the addition of a pure yeast culture. The wine was fermented for a further 7 days. During the cold-soak period colour and flavour are extracted in a aqueous, while the extraction of hard tannins is avoided. At about 1 degree Baume two thirds of the wine was transferred to new oak barrels where it completed it's fermentation. This gives good integration of the new oak and provides additional complexity. The balance of the wine was pressed at dryness, settled for 2 to 3 days to remove large solids, and then racked into oak for malo lactic fermentation. After malo lactic fermentation the wine was left to settle, racked, and then returned to oak for a further 12 months maturation. This wine is a selection of the best barrels from the best bocks. The wine has not been fined but did receive a light filtration prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes
The 2002/2003 growing season was mild and dry. All fruit was hand picked with the three different clones being picked over a period of two three weeks.
Tasting Notes
This wine is mid plum in colour and of brilliant clarity. The nose shows bright Pinot fruit combined with spice and savoury characters. The palate is richly structured with flavours of dark cherry and plum. The finish is long and silky.
Winemaking Notes
This wine is a single vineyard wine made from grapes off our Yarra Valley vineyard. Produced using our Pinot Noir technique of crushing followed by 6 days of cold maceration prior to fermentation. This allows the extraction of colour and flavour from the skins without extracting hard tannins. This was followed by a 6-day hot fermentation, which included 35% barrel fermentation. Following pressing the wines were racked to barrel for malo lactic fermentation and 14 months maturation. Prior to bottling the wine was lightly filtered.
Viticultural Notes
A warm summer followed by a mild and sunny autumn produced finely structured grapes with excellent flavour definition.
Tasting Notes
This wine is mid plum in colour. The nose shows intense dark cherry and spice overlayed savoury oak with hints of violets. The palate is powerful and full flavoured and is supported by minerally acid and fine-grained tannins that will ensure medium term cellaring. The wine finishes with a good persistence of flavour.
Winemaking
When making Pinot Noir we try to keep things as simple as possible and let the vineyard characters do all of the talking. After de-stemming and chilling the fruit was cold soaked for 7 days before the addition of a pure yeast culture. The wine was fermented for a further 7 days. During the cold-soak period colour and flavour are extracted in an aqueous solution, while the extraction of hard tannins is avoided. At about 1 degree Baume two thirds of the wine was transferred to new oak barrels where it completed it’s fermentation. This gives good integration of the new oak and provides additional complexity. The balance of the wine was pressed at dryness, settled for 2 to 3 days to remove large solids, and then racked into oak for malo lactic fermentation. After malo lactic fermentation the wine was left to settle, racked, then returned to oak for a further 12 months maturation. The wine has not been fined but did receive a light filtration prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes
The 2004-2005 growing season was mild to warm with some rainfall in the early part of the ripening period. This resulted in clean well-ripened fruit with good sugar and acid levels. Picking commenced of 14th April at 12.9 Be with the last clones being harvested on 30th April.
Tasting Notes
This wine is mid plum red in colour. The nose shows dark berry fruits overlayed with spice, mocha oak and forest floor notes. The palate is rich and complex showing good Pinot Noir character and has the acid and tannin structure that will ensure medium term cellaring. The wine finishes with a good length of flavour.

The balance of the wine was pressed at dryness, settled for 2 to 3 days to remove large solids, and then racked into new French oak barrels for malo lactic fermentation. After malo lactic fermentation the wine was left to settle, racked, then returned to oak for a further 12 months maturation. The wine has not been fined but did receive a light filtration prior to bottling. This wine uses 100% new oak and is a selection from the best blocks.
Viticultural Notes
The 2003-2004 growing season was warm and very dry. The first fruit was hand picked on 22nd of April while the last blocks weren’t picked until end of May. The fruit quality was excellent with good flavours, richness and colour.

Tasting Notes
Deep plum red in colour and brilliant in clarity. The nose is complex showing cassis and dark berry fruits overlayed with spicy oak and savoury notes. The palate is rich and concentrated with good fruit and oak integration and balanced acidity. The finish is long finish with soft sweet tannins.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit for this wine is from our Hill Road and Winery block. Fermented in open top vats with hand plunging. Matured for 18 months in 76% French and 24% American oak barriques. Prior to bottling this wine received a light filtration.
Viticultural Notes
The 2006 growing season started with an early bud burst and this was followed by a long period of warm to hot weather with plenty of sunshine. This resulted in very early picking with the Yarra Valley experiencing one of its earliest vintages on record. The fruit was picked on the 30th March.
Tasting Notes
This wine is deep plum red in colour with a purple edge. The nose shows dark berry fruits combined with sweet spice and mocha oak. The palate is soft and fruity with fine grape tannins and good acid balance.
Winemaking Notes
This wine was fermented in open top vats with twice-daily hand plunging followed by pressing and malo lactic in tank. Oak maturation has been kept to a minimum to enhance fruit flavours while still providing some oak sweetness and tannin. Early bottling has preserved the primary fruit flavours.

Thanks Faye, and thanks for making it so easy.
I thought the entire team of yours deserves great credit, from the kitchen staff to the serving and supervising team.
I heard nothing but very positive feedback, and the place pretty well erupted when I thanked your team in public.
Must do it again some time...!
Best,
Jeremy Oliver (guest speaker)
The venue, the food & some very very good staff made it a day to remember for us all.
Sandra
Just wanted to pass onto you how great your team are! We booked for the Sex in the City Twilight movie and as you know it was cancelled due to weather. We had arrived at the winery at about 6.30 before the downpour and when the rain hit, everyone there made us feel welcome with the offer of drinks and pizza. We spent about an hour sitting at the bar and having a lovely time. We will be back and recommend you to everyone. Please pass on our thanks to your staff for that night they were a real credit to you.
Brian
Just a note to say thank you for the superb evening and wonderful hospitality on Saturday night. We had such a great night.
We were all very impressed with the attentive service of your team, and the food was excellent. Each course of carefully matched wine and food evoked new thoughts from our table and we all had our favourites! (my picks were the soup and the Chardonnay).
Michelle
It was great to see all the gang the other night. Everything was excellent and I know everyone went away buzzing.
Chris

Just wanted to say thankyou for all the wonderful work you and your staff put together last Saturday night for my 50th birthday celebration. The venue looked superb and for anyone wondering whether to have an evening function, I would say the atmosphere was just perfect with the open fireplace, candles and beautifully decorated tables. Guests assured me the main courses were very tasty, I certainly enjoyed all..wine was great and enjoyed by all.
I will certainly recommend you to anyone who is celebrating any special event.
Thanks for your warmth and care.
